Dr. Evangelist Sonya Gray

Dr. Evangelist Sonya Gray is the founder of S&R Ministries International, a ministry birthed from God saving, restoring and setting her free from bondage of this world and herself.  She has been working in the field of educating, equipping and empowering women and youth for over 28 years. Dr. Gray has founded several programs through S&R Ministries including God’s Girlz Rule World Empowerment Program, U R Not the Only 1, and Motivators on the Move Ministry as well as S&R Coaching and Consultant.

Being a survivor of two rapes and domestic violence, it is very important to Dr. Gray to give the next generation of young ladies the tools they need to not be victims. God’s Girlz Rule World Empowerment Program (Girls Talk) serves to educate, equip, and empower girls by providing a place for them to improve their self-image, learn self-worth, and appropriate behavior. God’s Girlz Rule also assists young ladies with education advancement and cultural enhancement.

Following the death of her younger brother Aaron T. Anderson in December 2012, Dr. Gray started the mentoring and intervention ministry, U R NOT the Only 1. This program serves to mentor and help not only youth, but their parents as well, based on the principles of commitment, responsibility, possibility, and support. Dr. Gray involves the entire family in the process of teaching youth to establish goals and follow through, expanding the perspectives of young people and making them aware of life’s possibilities, and strengthening their support system by surrounding them in a caring and inclusive learning environment.

After God restored her, Dr. Gray started the Motivators on the Move Ministry to provide mentoring for women of all ages. The mission of the group is to educate, equip, and empower women to make better life choices, become positive leaders in the community, and how to live holy and upright before God.

A blossoming author, Dr. Gray has penned her first book, Path to Inner Peace, to help others learn how to achieve balance in their lives so that they can enjoy the peace of God that surpasses understanding. Dr. Gray second book was released in April 2017, Stop Hiding Behind the Mask: Breaking Generational Curses. In this book she will share her story of victory from the generational curses that almost killed her and the many masks she once wore in life.

Prior to devoting all of her time and energy to S&R Ministries, Dr. Gray worked as a supervisor for Spartanburg County Parks & Recreation from 2012-2014. She also volunteered with United Way through the AmeriCorp Service Program, the Spartanburg City Weed & Seed Program.
